Ant Idol Chapter 4, Threads of the Crown City - Part 4, is now available to read.

The confrontation at the coast continues, but the ocean offers no answer.

Silence becomes its own pressure

Fear spreads through the soldiers while the water remains silent. The fallen emperor, driven by grief and desperation, refuses to accept that silence as an answer.

He orders his men forward into the sea and commands them to strike at the waves with their swords. What begins as an act of defiance becomes an ordeal of endurance as the soldiers' strength gives way to exhaustion.

The emperor speaks of humanity, hope, and survival. The physical reality surrounding his men is less forgiving. Ant Idol uses that contradiction to continue one of the opening arc's central questions: how far can conviction carry people once the world stops confirming it?

The cost of refusing to yield

Part 4 is not simply about persistence. It is about the point where persistence, belief, command, and desperation become difficult to separate.

The soldiers can continue. They can also stop. Neither choice is presented as free of consequence.

That tension closes another stage of Threads of the Crown City and pushes the story toward the aftermath of the empire's collapse and the lives that will emerge from it.

Ant Idol can be read on GlobalComix, Tapas, NamiComi, and WEBTOON.
