Stereum Blockchain Block Production Explainer
A cartoon explainer for Stereum / RockLogic GmbH, connecting blockchain block production with a looping visual for its Devcon SEA 2024 booth.
The animation translates a technical blockchain process into a simplified visual narrative.
Using cartoon characters, environments, and visual metaphors, it abstracts how a block is produced and moves through the wider blockchain system without relying on a literal technical diagram.
The goal was to make an otherwise complex infrastructure process immediately understandable and visually engaging, while keeping the piece recognizably connected to Stereum's identity.
The animation was also designed for continuous playback as large-format background content at Stereum's booth during Devcon SEA 2024 in Bangkok, allowing the explainer to function simultaneously as educational content and as part of the physical event environment.
Project identity
A cartoon-style blockchain explainer animation created for Stereum / RockLogic GmbH, visualizing an abstracted version of the block production process.

Project case study
Context and brief
The project brought a technical blockchain process into a visual format for Stereum. Alongside its explanatory purpose, the animation was designed for continuous playback as large-format background content at the Stereum booth at Devcon SEA 2024 in Bangkok. The same work therefore had to function as both an explainer and part of a physical event environment.
Creative approach
Cartoon characters, environments and visual metaphors stand in for an abstracted block-production process. This creates a narrative through the subject instead of presenting a literal technical diagram. The visual treatment connects the explanation to Stereum’s identity, while the looping presentation supports its use as booth content. This is an explanatory animation, rather than event footage or a recap of the conference.
Deliverables
- Cartoon-style block-production explainer animation
- Illustrated characters, environments and visual metaphors within the film
- Animation designed for continuous playback in the booth environment
Finished work
The completed animation is available in the project’s video player. The portfolio record documents its additional use as looping background content at Stereum’s Devcon SEA 2024 booth. This case study describes the delivered work and its use; no audience, conversion or comprehension measurements are claimed.
